You know how when you want to look up a recipe so you do a quick Google search, and when you find what you want you have to scroll down the page about 5 times and read through a whole life story before you actually get to the recipe part?
I hate that. So I wanted to do something different. You're welcome! ;)
Homemade Pumpkin Spice
- 3 Tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
- 2 Teaspoons Ground Ginger
- 2 Teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
- 1 Teaspoon Ground Allspice
- 1 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
- Stir all ingredients together, and store in an air tight container. (These little glass spice jars are perfect!)
That's it! REALLY! Only five simple ingredients that you might already have in your cupboard!
And pumpkin isn't even one of them!
That's right folks - Pumpkin Spice is what you use to add flavor to pumpkin, and doesn't actually contain any pumpkin at all!
Now, what should you do with this pumpkin spice now that you have it?
Well, you could of course make a traditional pumpkin pie. But I like to sprinkle a little bit on top of my Java Momma coffee sometimes, too!
There are a variety of Fall inspired dishes that call for pumpkin pie spice. Do you have a favorite recipe to share? Leave it in the comments!
